Fred Martin's Sidestrand

 This is a Boulton Paul Sidestrand which is an earlier manifestation of the Overstrand. Sidestrand and Overstrand are the names of two seaside villages in Norfolk, UK. The Sidestrand was a medium bomber of the early 1930s, serving in the RAF with only 18 ever built. The model was made from the 1/72 Contrail vacuform kit. This was one of Contrail's early offerings and it shows. The kit provides an approximation of parts that needs quite a bit of work and of course, there are no decals. One builds somethings like this for the challenge, or possibly to serve some kind of penitence.

April 2022 Meeting

Gentlemen and Ladies, Once again IPMS MARIETTA will have our Monthly Club Meeting this Saturday, 16 April 2022, 1:00 PM EST at the Local Lodge 709 Union Hall at Lockheed. This meeting will be conducted the same as last month's Meeting. It will be a combination "In Person" and "ZOOM" Meeting. MASKS ARE OPTIONAL! Last Month's Meeting was a success with 30 members in attendance with 4 members joining on "ZOOM". I expect another great turnout and plenty of models for the "SHOW & TELL". REMINDER! This is the fourth Club Meeting for the Modeling Year so ANNUAL DUES WILL BE COLLECTED at the amount of $12.00. Discussion of ATLANTA CON 2022 "End of Action" will be a TOPIC. For those who are bringing models (please limit it to two (2) due to time restraints) I encourage you to submit photos to Mike Idacavage no later than Friday evening, 15 April 2022, in order for him to put those photos into a Power Point for better viewing at the Meeting.
